2025 Plant List

Welcome to the 2025 gardening season.

Here is a list of the varieties we will be offering this year. We will prioritize orders based on the dates we receive them. Because of a heavier school workload we are not growing as many plants as other years. We suggest sending us your order earlier to guarantee you get the plants you want.
Pickups will begin the second week in May.

Because plants have been grown in a greenhouse you will want to harden off your plants before planting them.

Plants are $3.50 per plant in a 4” pot

Peppers

 Peppers

Anaheim Pepper
Very productive, 2 1/2' tall plants yield dozens of 6" long, skinny fruits that have a distinct flavor (brought out well by roasting and/or combining with eggs!) and vary in heat from mild to mildly hot. Open-pollinated. 80 days.

California Wonder Bell Pepper

Tall, sturdy plants produce good yields of blocky, thick-walled fruits. A delicious green pepper that ripens to a vibrant red.

Sunbright Bell Pepper

Sunbright Yellow Bell is a beautiful bright yellow bell pepper.    Sunbright is a nice yielding pepper plant that produces green peppers and as they ripen, they turn a bright, canary yellow.  Peppers can be (5-7") long with thick fleshy walls.

Jalapeño Pepper Early

HEIRLOOM. Excellent hot and early variety.
Cooks Garden Favorite. Dark green, pungent 3" hot peppers are excellent fresh or pickled. Zesty flavor is great in Mexican dishes.

Orange Sun Pepper

The Orange Sun pepper plant is a prolific and vigorous plant that will produce heavy yields of orange peppers growing to 4 -5" long. You can harvest at both stages to boost production and give your meals some colors, but we recommend waiting until they are orange for their sweeter flavors! The 4-lobed pepper will ripen from green to a vibrant, striking golden-orange color that looks just like the sun.

Lunchbox/ Yum Yum Pepper

Available in Orange, Red, and Yellow These beautiful, mini-sized peppers are remarkably sweet and flavorful. They are delicious sautéed, as an addition to salads and, of course, perfect for a healthy snack. All three varieties have tall, strong plants that yield well for snack-type peppers.

Pepperoncini Italian Sweet

Pepperoncini Italian peppers have thin sweet flesh excellent for pickling. They are 3-5” long and .75-1.5” wide. Bushes are relatively small and grow 30” tall.

Cucumbers

I have been getting a lot of questions about the different types of cucumbers I have available this year. From snacking cucumber to pickling cucumbers I have some good options.

To help you decide on which cucumber fits your needs the best I have included descriptions of the different types of cucumbers here.

.............................................................................

Cucamelon- Mexican Sour Gherking Cucumber-

Looks like a miniature watermelon but is a cucumber. Crunch into them and they have a cucumber like taste with a lemony-lime burst. Easy to grow, having rampant vines, best grown on a trellis or in hanging baskets and easily ignored by pests. Harvest when they are smaller than a grape; the bigger they get the more sour citrus flavor they get. Eat them raw as a snack and in salads or preserve by pickling.

Melons

 Melons

Blacktail Watermelon

A wonderful, sweet, easy-to-grow variety that matures early and ripens 8-12” melons for months through the late summer. Great icebox variety, with a few whoppers! Open-pollinated.

Crenshaw Melon

Vigorous vines produce oval-shaped melons weighing up to 10 lbs. The salmon-colored flesh is sweet and delicious! Sow seeds in hills 4-6" apart. Allow your melons to ripen on the vine. Fruits are usually ripe when they smell aromatic and when stems start to crack.

Crimson Sweet Watermelon

A pretty, light green melon with dark stripes, Crimson Sweet is famous for its high sugar content and great flavor. Seeds are small and dark. Give vines plenty of room to run.

Hale’s Best Jumbo Cantaloupe

Delicious, firm flesh is rich with antioxidants. To save space, plant 1 foot apart at the base of a trellis where vines can climb.

Honey Rock Cantaloupe

This melon variety produces compact 3-4 lbs fruits that are early to mature in just 80 days! Honey Rock's flesh is a tender salmon-orange hue with a delicate sweet taste. This small melon is a good size for an early melon.

Jubilee Watermelon

These oblong watermelons have a light green base with dark green stripes. This variety weighs 25 pounds or more when mature.

Sugar Baby Watermelon

Its flavor is in its name as Sugar Baby is nice and sweet  just like sugar! This fruit grows to about 8 pounds, which is just the right size for your refrigerator.

Snow Leopard Melon

Variegated honeydew.

Unique, personal-size, and an excellent specialty item for farmers' markets and restaurants. Melons avg. 2 lb. with firm texture and sweet flavor.

Squash

Squash

Acorn- Table King Squash

Grown on a smaller bush instead of vines. able King Bush Acorn squash is a winter squash. Plant forms a vigorous and compact bush plant that produces 5-8 squash per season. This is the best alternative to Honey Bear Hybrid Winter Squash. Table King is the perfect winter squash choice if you are short on space. Flavor just keeps getting better in storage.

Banana Squash

Fruits can get 4 feet long and 1 foot across and weight 70 pounds. Smooth pink-orange skin with sweet yellow/orange, fine-grained flesh

Black Beauty Zucchini

This early and prolific heirloom variety has been exceedingly popular for its very dark green skin and creamy white flesh. You know what they say about zucchini, "plant it and stand back." The fast-growing plants are very easy to grow and will continue to produce abundantly through summer if kept picked. Use in soups, salads, and casseroles. Great sliced thin for dips, battered and fried, or in veggie lasagna. Freezes well. Harvest while skins are still tender; pick really small for "baby zucchini."

Butterbush Squash

A butternut squash grown on a bush instead of vines

Butternut Waltham Squash

grown on vines. This variety, Waltham Butternut, has a hard, yellow to tan exterior but delicious sweet, orange flesh inside. Exceptional quality, no stringiness. This long-lasting squash stores all winter.

Dark Green Zucchini

When this long green squash is mature it can be up to 10-12" in length! Ideal for multiple cooking dishes and baked goods such as cakes, breads and muffins. A summer squash, this green zucchini is a delight in the kitchen.

Delicata Squash-

Like a single serving of sweet winter candy, with decorative thin skin!

A favorite winter variety for its exquisitely sweet, single or double serving fruits, borne prolifically on dainty plants that don't overrun the garden like some whopping varieties. Skins can be left on when dicing or cutting rings if desired--pairs great with taters in a roasting pan!

Golden Zucchini

Heirloom zucchini blazes with bright-golden color and a delicious flavor. Fruits are medium-long, slender, and cylindrical in shape. Garden Hint: Fruits are best-tasting when 6–8" long. Cultivate or mulch to control weeds. Fertilize once fruits form to increase yield.

Spaghetti Squash

This squash produces plenty of medium-sized, 3–4 lb. oblong fruits. Flesh can be served up like spaghetti—an immediate hit with kids. CULINARY HINT: Slice fruit lengthwise, remove seeds, brush with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, roast face down until flesh fluffs out of shell with a fork for spaghetti-like appearance. Serve with marinara sauce or season to taste. Can be stored several months in a cool, dry place.

Early Crookneck Squash
Meaty fruits with small crookneck have bright yellow, bumpy skin.
Bright-yellow crookneck fruits are graced with fine, meaty texture and succulent flavor. Dishes are nicely accented by olive oil and lemon and sprinkled with chives or basil. Good for freezing.

Huge pumpkins up to 70" around often weigh 100 lb.

To achieve outsize results, provide these big guys with plenty of moisture, fertilizer, and space, limiting vines to one or two pumpkins. Yields round to flattened-round fruits up to 6' wide with bright-orange skin and 4" thick yellow-orange flesh. Delicious for pies and breads.

Jack Be Little Pumpkin

Adorable miniature pumpkins—just 3" across and 2" high—are Halloween-ready and happy-making fall/winter decorations. Plants produces six or seven mini pumpkin masterpieces that kids love at first sight.

Jack O’Lantern

The best pumpkin for carving.
This is the pumpkin you want for carving—and cooking. Fruits are medium-sized and round to elongated in shape.
